Charitable Causes: Relief Through Leadership

May 7, 2021

My name is Rob Koch, and I am the Chief Executive Officer for DYOPATH, an IT Managed Services and Cybersecurity firm with offices throughout the United States.  DYOPATH is an organization that is very passionate and committed to giving to charitable organizationsWhile there are many charities we support in Houston, TXas discussed by Chuck Orrico in our previous charitable cause blog, there are additional charities we are passionate about and support. One of which I will be discussing today, Relief Through Leadership, works to provide education and technology to children in Puerto Rico and around the world. Previously, I was joined by Dr. Jim McKay, Superintendent of Community High School District 117, Bill Spakowski, DYOPATH’S Director of New Business Development, and Bill Borbas, DYOPATH’S Sales Manager, where the four of us went into detail about Relief Through Leadership and how DYOPATH works to support them. We’d love for you to check out our video HERE.

Throughout the first year of partnering with Relief Through Leadership, DYOPATH worked hard to ensure that the children of Puerto Rico were receiving the correct resources to support their learningAs we moved into our second year of support, we identified additional needs and focused on utilization of the donated resources. We traveled to Puerto Rico and provided Professional Learning to over 100 teachers to help them become more proficient in integrating technology into their classrooms and the learning community.

Relief Through Leadership seeks to create a sustainable pipeline of technology and focused professional development for schools and communities in need around the globe. They leverage leaders dedicated to expanding the capacity of education through professional development to make a difference in the lives of children. In collaboration with like-minded leaders and organizations, Relief Through Leadership provides refurbished retired Chromebooks and similar computing devices to schools with technology needs so their students can gain access to the internet and information previously unavailable to themRelief Through Leaderships goal is to create lasting collegial support networks that ultimately improve student learning through the integration of technology and the teaching of sound research-based strategies.

While it is important to provide access to technology, the need for students to learn the technology is vital. To this end, we teach the teachers and help grow the skill set necessary to use the technology effectively. At DYOPATH, we understand the importance of supporting teachersproviding expertise and resources that lead to student success.

Thank you,
